Does anyone know any tricks to the Pioneer 4100DVD Double Din radio? I've had mine for a year, i have bluetooth and my ipod hooked to the radio, but I think it does more than that. Anyone know any tricks/tips?

Not to derail your thread but how did you get a double din to fit in your 01 (pics if you got em)? I would love to put a double din in my 02.

Yea, all we did was cut the radio area in the dash. But i heard u can get a 03+ radio dash piece and it would fit. If i knew that then, i wouldve jus done that. But this works.

(In the pic it looks crooked, it's not; I was parked on hill and I was sitting crooked in the driver's seat when i took the pic)

it all depends on how big the unit is, when i had my 02 i had a kenwood 7inch i had to trim all around the open area for the radio till it would squeeze thru it was a pain in the ass but it came out good

Good deal. I will have to keep this in mind.

Hopefully someone with one of these head units (or experience with one) will chime in about the tips/tricks you are looking for. I will also do some checking so if I come up with anything I will let you know.

I've had one in my truck for almost a year too. Its hooked to my ipod and the only thing I've done to mine so far is add a custom background to mine. I'm interested in finding out what else this thing can do.

I found the background and instructions at avic411.com. I found several chevy/duramax themed backgrounds. You can see one of them in bobo's garage on dp

I put the pictures I wanted on a cd and as I was looking at them I told it to capture the one I wanted and it will save one picture and I selected picture (I think) in the background menu. I'm trying to find the thread again on avic411.com

I did that, but when i put the CD in, it says unplayable disc "unknown"

I created a data disc with just pictures on the cd and when it tried to play it, they came right up and I could scroll through them and pick the one I wanted. If you download them from that website, get the PIM converter so you can put them in jpg format, or I could email you the ones I already converted and tried in my truck.

Do I just download them, then put them on a blank CD? All I have is CDs i use to make music CDs.

Yeah, that's it. I put them on as data on a blank cd and tried it that way and it worked.
