01's seem to show higher oil pressure, on the guage at least, than later model trucks. Your sounds normal. Nice find.Puller?? Racing?? Another DD??
thanks for the bid of confidence, DD, Hauler for the puller, Drag racer. i would look funny if i were to beat Aaron in Ironhyde pulling with a stock turbo ....holy chit i can hear it now:D:D:D

my 01s oil pressure was the same way. Ill have to say I had no problems at all with the motor, it had 130,000 on it and I swore it would last forever.

this one has a light blue haze a idle and when stompin on it, one injector with a -4.8, #5 IIRC, and a weird knocking or ticking or something noticeable when in higher rpms. it could be a loose shield or something but if i do a lly top end swap like i am planning i will find out if it is the valves. i don't believe it coul've ever had a tuner or anything on it. it is almost completely stock. i will run ATF and standadyne for now and see if it helps injector and blue haze.

Tim,

Nice looking truck. It looks even nicer than you described it on the phone

My buddy's 01 has the same oil pressure characteristics as yours. The fuel level issues should be an easy fix (call me if you need a hand dropping the tank).

What do you plan to do with the injector(s). That should still be covered under warranty by GM correct....??

chris, i am going to look at the TSB again and if they are under warrenty still from the first time they were replaced at 103K in 03/06 then i will have them done again. i dont want to put 500/1000 to it if one injector is not great. the fuel guage issue i believe is a loose wire or corrosion on the sending unit so i will be dropping tank and checking it out, probably going to put the Hellman sump pickup in it and doing a DIY secondary filter to keep it clean to the CP3. i need to start parting out the Saab to buy more parts:rolleyes::D:D

I never realized the truck in your avatar and sig isn't yours. :p

Nice looking truck for the money! That's gonna be a lot of wiring to swap an 01 LB7 to LLY. All the body wiring is different I think as well so it's not as plug n play as it would be if going from an 03-04LB7 to LLY.

i'm not doing a complete swap. just the top end when i get a chance so i can get rid of te LB7 injectors. after talking with Ben i think i can run lly top end (including lly FICM) off of the LB7 ECM

cool, certainly keep us posted on how that works out... I would consider that if mine or the ol' ladies ever go out and the warranty is out... which is bound to happen. Mine have close to 150K on stockers and ol' ladies has 205K but has had them changed once about 45K ago. If the LLY injectors and FICM can be controlled by the LB7 ECM, I'd be up for attempting that to be done with worrying about injectors... plus it'd be easier swaps later if need be. :D
