it has one not-so-great injector, balance rate test shows a 4.8 in D. the tailgate is slightly bent. smokes a light blue haze at idle and when throttling it, can't notice it when driving. 150K miles. fuel gauge works intermittently and throws Fuel Level Sensor Circuit code. i figure it's just a loose wire or something easy. the smoke- i wouldn't doubt it's valve seals. unless the oil pump putting out too much pressure would cause this (40 at idle and as soon as pedal is applied it goes to 60-75 and stays there till full throttle and then it goes full bore to 80)?

on edit: KAT, can you enlarge these? they are dieselplace links and i can't figure it out :(

is this Foster, or is this another Mainer? Chesterfield is in the Berkshire Mtns in Western Mass. very small towns, no gas or fuel for a half hour, decent snowfall, lots of coyotes to use as target practice:D

hey Craig, Kennebunk is a nice area, my family had a camp in Lincoln for 20 yrs right down the street from BadMax (chad shorrey), so i have spent some time up there and down on the coast for a few days at a time. if you go to Freyeburg Fair this year, the owner of the 04 GMC IronHyde should be there pulling again, i'll be gone.

Freyeburg is usually on the last sunday. I dont own IronHyde, my friend Aaron Bauer does and I do all the work on it with some help from a few of our friends who have more tools than I. I will be deployed by July so i can only make the spring pulls this year, but Aaron and a friend of ours who is a mechanic will probably go to all the fall pulls they can.

O yeah, this 01 will be my DD and hauler for Iron-Hyde, and drag racer once in a while. I want take rear leafs out and put in coilovers/airbags and 4 link and still be close to stock ride height. it will stay stock for a while.

it is in very good shape, i had people telling me "why would you buy a truck on ebay that you havent seen in person or driven?" all i would say is, "just wait":D i would have still gotten it if it didnt run, it was a good price and i know i can fix it.

01's seem to show higher oil pressure, on the guage at least, than later model trucks. Your sounds normal. Nice find.Puller?? Racing?? Another DD??
