Well im being told by a few guys who know the owners of the track very well that the track will be shut down for good by end of the month. this is again, ONLY HEARSAY, and i truly hope im wrong. Shot an email off to NHRDA as well to see what they have heard, if anything.

Here is the email i got back from jason at NHRDA.

James,

Yes we have heard rumors of what is happening down there. We are in the process of trying to find out exactly what is going on. We are also working in a backup plan. We will release any info as soon as we get it.

i know im starting a new thread instead of continuing on with the old one but IMOP, this is pretty serious and upsetting to me and others here. Mods, if im goin over the top, please move this back to my old thread.

I hope it ain't true. Was really looking forward to going and racing with all the members here. I hope if it is true, NHRDA will scramble to relocate it instead of canceling it.

i agree. there are tons of guys who drive very far for this event every year so im sure they would love to have some kind of heads up on where it was moved to or whats going on

I think Tuscon would be a good alternative. Not much farther from the original planned location and its warm there! AZ members indicate the track is nice also.

Steve says its "ok" but speedworld is better. if they do firebird, you guys be prepared cause they are sticklers on times, tech, and everything else.

Vegas is only 3 hrs north.... if only.

Sucks they're closing it, ive been there every year, always a good event.

Signed that. Even wrote a short email to the governor, not sire how much weight it'll carry since I'm not an AZ resident, but every little bit counts i guess.

this is shity for u AZ guys, sorry to see this happen... i really like the Vegas idea though, that would be nice :thumb:
