Experience in these trucks is vital also.

I got into the drivers seat of a truck for the first time ever and ran it down the track...I ran it at a new fastest 1/4 time first time ever driving it and the owner had made over 50 passes(maybe 100) in it.

Is bri bri that bad at driving??

 lets entertain this
:denied: you have never staged boost to 20 psi and left the line boosted @ 20psi, i know, i had deranged thoughts similar to yours not that long ago. Now that i know better, i know im lucky to get 12psi on a boosted launch before i completely pull through my brakes
 you are gonna want to see a sustained 26-28,000psi rail pressure and bigger injectors than stock to hit the goals you have while riding on those tires. Then, that one pass might just cost you a piston or two or some rods, basically an engine build. It would be a whole lot easier to just roll a 33 down the track whilst removing weight, and you will get your 12.9 on a good night with the stars aligned and 100 hail marys
It would probably be more help if you would tell him about your personal experience at the track. What seems to work best with your setup? What RPM and or boost level makes your truck 60 the best? What tire preasure do you run and at what tempreture?

personal exp: I have 6 yrs total of owning and driving my dmax's. the (bought new) LBZ 2006-current, the (used) LB7 2009 to current. I've been to the drag strip quite a few times and failed at my goal of 12's. I've tried sled pulling and failed due to installer failure to install parts correctly I paid good money for. I took it upon myself to go to school and learn the diesel trade and now I wrench on/maintain my own stuff because of bad past problems but I'm in good hands with the vendors in my sig now.

Dragstrip: been there 3+ times
Sled pull : been there 4+ times
Daily driven: Both trucks
Street Raced: 2002 6+ cant talk about that one much

#1)Get your cv axles as level to the ground as possible
#2)i run my tires @ about 60% or less of their psi rating, 80 psi tire id run about 50psi or less, with track temps in the 80's
#3)shed some weight, and run a smaller tire, maybe landon's drag radial

OP- im not bashing you bro, have you been bashed on before, cuz this is just me not agreeing with you. I posted when i thought i was leaving the line @ 20psi and bout got laughed off the forum

I just know for a fact the stock lb7 charger, injectors and cp3 on stock pistons, does not make that kind of pressure staging. 20 psi boosted launch? Get real!

Your lb7 cp3 will make 25-26k psi with an lbz psi reg

I should seriously hope your lbz maintains 26k rail with twin cp3's, mine holds 26-28k with a single stock cp3 with only the ppe hi flow cp3 kit and fprv shim as upgrades.

I think your gonna have your hands full trying to get this big tires to run that fast in the 1/4.Are they hummer wheels? I run the same on the street but I have pyos with proxies for the track.Your slinging a lot of weight with those wheels. What did you do to beef up you 1/2 shafts in the front? Launching with the front end up is unfriendly to everything in the front. Not bashing or knocking just curious.

Yes, I have been bashed on here before but we want go there. I'm not going to drag the boost psi statement out enough said about it.

#1 no problem still have stock keys/bolts

#2 I run 55-60psi max on the street/ strip air down to 20 front 25 rear????

#3 Good point but defeats my personal goal of 12's with 315's call me stubborn:banghead: I'll probably have to eventually go with slicks

Thanks so much for all the help here guys

I also agree, i have been right at or really really close to 20psi boosted.launch on a lb7. Least thats what the gauge and log said. Haven't tried it in my lbz yet. Dam y-bridge doesnt like my twins.

So to sum it up are 12's possible? If there are to many no's and not enough go's I'll just wait and and save to do plan b so I know there no chance of failure at my goal.

I think you can do it! Pull the rear seat and passenger seat, rear bumper and hitch, tailgate and as much other bs as you can. Go to the track with about 1/4-3/8 tank of fuel. Have you tried a 2nd gear start yet? It's a lot less violent on the tires when you launch and its easier to hold truck back and it's one less shift the tranny has to make. Your 60' will fall off a bit but that's not the goal. I always clean the back tires in the water box with a small burnout to get the small rocks off not to heat the tires. Just my experience but my friends ccsb with a tranny and 33" bfg's went 13.0's with the tailgate and spare still hanging from it. After that pass I made him take the gate and spare off and a minor tune tweak and it went 12.90's with about 9psi launch. We were pretty much at the same point you are we just wanted to make the truck go 12's.

I think you can do it maybe try a lock up box that should cut you down 2 10ths alone.Ctrump90 ran 12.29 on fuel only and 11.64 with a 100 shot in his lb7 but he had little drag radials on it in his 03 ecsb.Practice your launches get rid of 1 batt and the batt tray i mean really lightweight it not sure if it is 7 lbs or 13 lbs is = to 1 horse rear bumper hitch seats console loose change head lights tow hooks whatever loose it all.
