LB7: Performace Test

Does anyone know if its possible to run a performance test on an 02 dmax and if so can it be done with a gm scanner?

I don't know what you're talking about. What is a performance test?

I think its something they usually do on gassers. It measures each cylinders contribution by cutting one out at a time and displaying the results as a percentage. Just wondering if you can do it on a dmax. Friend is having trouble with his.

I think he just wants a general diagnostic to see if the truck is putting out what it should. i've never heard of one being done, but it certainly would be useful and i would be interested myself

You can do a balance rate test. That is the closest you are going to get to that on a Duramax.

There has to be some sort of a cylinder contribution test that could be done on a dmax.....maybe crossreference compression with injector rates, or cut each cylinder off individually while on a dyno possibly? Just thinking out loud.
