i want to re route my pcv but don't want hose running under the truck dripping oil all over the place. so i was thing of doing what everybody does and t the the two lines together and run the hose to a oil catch tank for a dry sump oil system. there the oil will collect and the air will vent and escape. also what are you guys doing to t into the hard plastic line on the lbz. could you get a lly pcv hose and get it to fit. thanks for any input guys.

In the DIY part of the forum there is a sticky for the PCV re-route. It is basically the same as the LBZ except you have to remove the hard plastic pipe, cut it and then just slide a hose over the plastic pipe with a T in between.

Just cut the plastic pipe and slide a hose over it to a T

the catch can is a great idea,But IMO not needed

However if you are concerened about the leaks by all means do it

I bought a stainless coffee cup and drilled and tapped a 1/2" npt connection (JB welded it in ) on the top and then left the vent or the sipper open, but i never ended up useing it

Best of luck with your project!

I like that idea, I've been think of this as well.

Where do you plan on putting it?

Guys that have done the PCV mod, where do you have the tube vent too? Under the driverside, fenderwell, behind the cab......

I'm worried that after I do this, I'm going to constantly smell that horrible used diesel oil smell, and it will migrate into the cab.:(

Well Craig, I went out in the front fender well behind the upper control arm, and I can smell it sometimes. If you go down by the front diff or down inside the frame rail I think it would be better.

IIRC, there was a write-up or a post on the DP over a year ago about using an air compressor water separator...Compact and inexpensive...

I just routed heater hose down between the master cylinder and the driver side wheel well to the frame, then followed the wire loom down to the bottom of the frame. it just vents into the atmosphere under my driver door inside the frame. I haven't seen a single drip on the pavement yet, but I'm sure if I cut the heater hose up towards where I put the Tee I'd see it smeared on the inside like it was on my intercooler pipes.

I haven't smelled anything burnt, fuel smell, or oil smell etc... well other than the obvious crap like standing downwind of my exhaust lol.

Cool kit. I like shiny alumineeeum stuff.

I ran my hose out the driver side and into the boxed opening in the frame rail just under the cab drivers side, if it ever leaks it'll catch in the frame rail versus my driveway. On my truck there is hole in the bottom of the rail for it to drain out of the rail if it ever became excessive.

If i thought it wouldn't start a fire I would drain it into the exhaust and create a positive vacuum while it was running.

Silly ideas i get sometimes...

On my LLY I went to Home Depo and got a brass elbo. I forget what size it is. I then got a bar stool leg cap to cap off the intake. I put the eldo into the t and ran a hose under the truck I ran the hose back to the fuel cooler. I put a little filter on the end of the hose to catch the oil if any comes out. I only reaso I ran it back so far is so you do not smell the oil when the truck is running.
