Simon, I've paid for several things as gifts, and you are right, one time it did say that bit about me or them paying the fee. Only did that once though. Since then, it's never asked.

Like I said, I pay that way all the time if I can. Hoever, that whole deal about getting reimbursed is probably out the window if you did this on an actual sales transaction and it went sour. Doubt PayPal would be chomping at the bit to help on that one since you were skirting around the fees. ;)

Not everything is perfect. That goes for Paypal too.

The Buyer or Seller protection policy at Paypal does not apply on automobile transactions.

An average Joe Paypal acount (non commercial account) can only collect $10,000 per transaction.
So if you sold a $22,000 truck you would have to Paypal invoice your buyer 3 time #1 $10k #2 $10k #3 $2k

Now if the deal went bad? You could only file one dispute claim per transaction.
So at best.. You would get $10,000 back on a $22k claim
but because it is a automotive claim ZERO protection.

NOTE the Paypal website has an 800 number you can call. They are very helpful and eager to answer any of your questions. Use it !!! It will help protect you.

I'am a long time user of Paypal and have never had any problems with Paypal themselves.
But this is something you guys should see. Let it play throw and the next one is interesting too.

i use paypal a CRAP load..i bet i have moved $50k through mine easy...never an issue :thumb:

That's strange you could do one Paypal transaction for $50k and I couldn't do one for over $10k.

I've had my account since 08
But I've alway done $50.00 to $300. transactions.
Only once did I do a $21,500 transaction.
I phoned and ask them to increase it. They wouldn't.

Why is your different? Is yours a commercial account?

I tried to make a payment last night and it says i need to add money to my account VIA bank card that can take up to 6 days? ( in canada)
At first i thought it was my visa blocking the transaction so i called Visa and said WTF they said no probloms on my end:confused:

It just wont let me paypal the person i owe money to? Wish I could call and talk to someone at pay pal as I dont really care about the fee just want this money sent!

They are really nice. I have only had one issue in 8+years. Someone bought a priental painting for $749.99 but they reimbursed me pretty quick. just had overdraft fees at the bank and they waived them too.
