FedEx brought me some goodies today. Torque plates should be here early next week, and I'll be ready to take it to the machine shop. Hopefully this is the last time I have to do this.

x2. What kind of pistons?
Cut and coated 20 over LB7s from SoCal Diesel.

hope this is not a touchy subject but what happend ? i thought you already had a built motor .
I did. I had some parts that required replacing. Similar to what DURAtotheMAX had but not as severe. Also, the pistons I used were modded stock bore LBZ pistons, and I wanted to replace them with something I was more comfortable with and open up the bore to clean up a spot that was left in my cylinder wall from the hole being blown through the piston during the original failure.

off topic but...

iirc i read on here somewhere that the lbz rods aren't offset and can work both ways.
I think you're thinking about pistons. Rods are the same. Supposedly, the LBZ pistons have the pins centered top to bottom while the LB7/LLY pistons have them offset depending on which side of the engine they go on. They are all centered front to back.

Nope, the offset is needed to center the rod in the middle of the piston, when it is in the bore. Most all V-8 engines are like this.

LBZ are no different than LB7, LLY, LMM. :D
