I'm sure no wants big brother to come in and start telling people what they can sell something for or charge for a service. There's plenty of times in my industry we will charge someone quadruple the price because we don't really want to work.

I know in my experience with selling parts/products, there are times that I cannot purchase parts from the manufacture or supplier cheaper than I could on Amazon. It's frustrating for sure to not be able to price match certain things but we keep them in stock anyway in case a customer needs it. I'd not assume that every company has the same purchasing power. Sometimes customer support and having a part in stock on a weekend for instance means there is a higher cost. Good example is the number of calls we get when someone needs help on a transgo kit purchased off of flea-bay and wants us to help them trouble shoot. Yes, we may charge a few dollars more for a transgo but the customer has a place to call if there is an issue.

100-200% is crazy though and surprised that company can stay in business as most consumers these days do a bit of research.

I will always pay more for a part if it comes with customer service like you guys and our other vendors on here provide. :thumb:

Honestly i dont expect most of the shops to be able to get the discount say summit/jegs/Amazon type companies can especially when they can move a manufactures entire production line vs handful of lines
I call up a dmax performance shop.. id expect to be able to get say clevitte bearings and thrust bearings for a dmax.. and have a few on shelf.. i wouldn't expect to find honda bearings on their shelf tho im sure they could get them

I usually give a shop opportunity to match prices especially if im spending some coin with them. Example pf that the GM dealer i get alot of my gaskets from gives me employee parts price which is wholesale +10% or abouts.. then again i ran ~15k in parts last year through them..

Rockauto is great but they price gouge on the shipping more than my other part retailer I ever dealt with.
That's why I stock up all at once. For example lets say one oil filter might cost $4 to ship, add 5 more to your cart and then look at shipping....it will prolly be $10. And then you have some stock in the shop. But yes if you need just one item it's prolly same money to go to your local auto parts store and but it.
