0872 Mike.
ATS installed by your boy Kyle. 2 years ago.
Not 1 issue with the trans till today.
Check engine came on, drove for 30 miles with it on,"Transmission Hot", came on DIC, temp was 275+?
What should I do?
Thanks.

Unfortunately you should have pulled over and let the trans temp cool down. At 275 degrees, it's almost certain that something clutch-wise is hurt. Code 872 relates to a E shift valve problem. Good luck.

The only way you are going to get hot temps is a plugged filter ( spin on or sump ) or bad converter. This is also the cause of your P0872; grit sticking the E shift valve. Pull the pan and look for material in the pan. You will have some. Trans has to come out. Don't think this is Kyle's faul at all. I vote converter.

Wow ,
The support from my "boys" is astonishing.
Wait, What causes the code, plugged filter, or converter.
If converter, how do I tell its bad?

Trans fluid really doesn't smell bad to me.
A regular Transynd sorta smell.
But I am a neophyte.
That means rookie cobra.
