Hey ya'll need some advice on what to do, Starting to have this code show up, what is the best approach to take when dealing with the glow plugs? Just replace them as they go? Will I have to have the ECM reflashed, or is the glow plug control module separate? I am also worried that if I have to get reflashed I will lose my DSP-5 tune because I have a ECM swap...

Im getting all 8 GP codes. Is there a vendor on the forum i can get the GPs from or is it strictly a delaer part? Also how hard is it to change the GPs in the LBZ? Thanks

I'm sure the can come from vendors, and I'm not knocking any of them. But I got the ones for my lb7 from AutoZone quick. I believe they were oem too

Not really any worse than a set of spark plugs on some newer vehicles. Shouldn't take more than a couple hours. If that. If you have a code for all of them though I'd maybe suspect the controller or wiring somewhere. It's unusual for all to fail at once.

Sorry for the newb questions but im new to the duramax world... i came over from a 6.4L powerstroke. Will i be looking for a shorted out fuse in the fuse box? I dont know if this is related or not but im also throwing a P003a code which is a turbo vein position sensor code? Seems to be i should clean the sensor first and see if that works, then change the sensor if not, then look into a turbo if neither of that works?? Could any of this be related?? Thanks fellas

I'm not totally sure if there's a fuse in the box for them or not. The glow plug controller is mounted to the drivers side valve cover toward the rear of the engine. Look at the wires and connections going to it. There's one fairly heavy power wire and a couple smaller ones into a separate plug

Far as the vane code, is it repetitive or just one time? I had a turbo code come up one time, just cleared it and drove the truck with a couple wot shots and I haven't seen it since

What should i look for once i find the glow plug control module... look for any kind of loose wires?

I just read about the glow plug recall here, im going to have to check and see if mine was reflashed or not being im the 3rd owner http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/63...w-plug-recall-please-read-before-posting.html Do you think maybe this could be it?

As far as the p003a code, its been on since i bought the truck a few months ago. I tried to clear the code with the superchips tuner the previous owner had on there (i took that garbage off and currently looking into EFI Live) and is now currently stock. But anyways it just comes right back on and stays on. The funny thing is, the truck seems to be running completely fine???

Truck has 174K on it (which should be nothing for these engines..)
