P0299 and P0102 after mouthpiece and intake mod

Installed my MBRP exhaust and LBZ mouthpiece along with my k&n intake kit.
Now I'm getting a continuous p0102 and p0299. I've checked for any leaks in the intake system and mouthpiece. Checked my MAF sensor installation also. I can't seem to figure it out.
With the mouthpiece being much larger than the LLY mouthpiece and the intake allowing more air, could the ECM Not be keeping up?

I'm at a loss. I appreciate any help.

What intake kit did you install? You say an LBZ mouthpiece and K&N filter kit. Did you use an LLY filter kit or switch to an LBZ to match the LBZ mouthpiece. If you switch to an LBZ air filter kit, you have to rescale the MAF for the larger intake kit.

That is the reason for your p0102. You'll need EFILive or a dealer can reflash that I think.

For the p0299:

You have 2 options at this point as BOTH codes are because you put the wrong intake on it. 1st option which is the best is to get EFILIVE and rescale the MAF sensor for the larger 5" intake tube VS the LLY's 4". 2nd option is to go to GM, and have you truck flashed for a round filter calibration. Also, since you say you bought a K&N filter kit, you do know to go easy on oiling the filter correct? The K&N filter is not a good filter to run on a truck equipped with a MAF sensor. The oil from the filter will come off and get on the wires in the MAF, and cause it to not read correctly and require cleaning of the MAF sensor. Your codes are because the LLY intake tube is 4 inches inside diamter, and the LBZ is 5 inches. The MAF is setup to read airflow in a 4" ID tube, so in a 5" tube it is going to read less airflow since it is in a larger tube. The P0102 code is for low airflow. The P0299 is for lower than expected boost, this is because it isn't reading the correct amount of air going into the engine VS boost, so the tables are not matching and setting the code.

I did put the k&n on it but never oiled it. I will try to get a hold of a guy at GM and see if he can recalibrate it for me. I'm a tech at infinity and worked for Honda for 17 years. Any idea if a snap on Solus will work to recalibrate it?

I am planning on getting the EFI live 5 dsp switch with 5 transmission safe programs. Only problem is $$ right now. Trust me my charge card is begging me to use him but the truck does me no good if I can't pay for it lol

Pretty sure k&n filters won't work right if they're not oiled. If it came dry and needed to be oiled before install, about all it'll stop is chipmunks, bugs and leaves. Smaller stuff like dust won't be stopped very effectively. Personally, I'd just use the stock paper filter, especially the round one. The lbz power core filters are pretty darn good.

As for the solus, I don't know much about it, but can it reprogram modules? If so, and it has whatever features would need to be enabled for the gm truck, then that with a 3 day TIS2web sub should get you fixed up. Or a dealer reprogram would probably be around $100.

Yep, K&N filters don't stop much of anything unless they are oiled. The other thing they don't tell you is K&N's don't filter well until there is a layer of accumulated dirt and oil on one, and byt that time they flow less less than stock. That's why I went with an AFE dry filter media for mine. I had to go with a round filter to work with my swap because the stock filter box wouldn't clear the hood.

Am I better off taking the K&N intake kit back and going with the AFE intake kit? And if I do go that route, what about the mouthpiece mod? Because an 05 kit won't fit the 06 mouthpiece

You can buy an AFE intake kit with an AFE mouthpiece. Or the S&B setup is a little cheaper I believe and flows just as well, and both will outflow an LBZ mouthpiece.

any dealership can flash it to a round filter calibration and take care of it. if you have a tuner on it now, set it back to stock, have it updated by a dealer, and then put your tuner back in, problem solved.
