Hey everyone my kid has an 06 with bigger injectors and turbo deleted with efi live. Having transmission problems (long story). Have it at the transmission shop and he is trying to do test on it and it keeps saying it’s overheating and goes into limp mode. His snap on scanner says the temp is 212-217. It’s not actually overheating. I did take efi live out because we were having communication problems with the tcm and the shop said had to return everything to stock. Any help would be fantastic

Isnt this the second time you've tried repairing this truck? Get it to a competent shop that works on modded Duramaxes.

We had the communication problems taken care of that’s why it is at transmission shop. He is a transmission mechanic not a diesel mechanic. Never had engine overheating problems. He was taking it for a test drive to check pressures in tranny and got dic on dash saying engine was overheating and it went into limp mode. The temp guage was bouncing all around but actual engine temp was never over 215

check the water level, search on where the coolant temp sensor is (there is only one), search on the finicky gauge clusters.

Tell us about the truck, that might help , is transmission upgraded ? have HGs been replaced yet ? who did injectors , turbo, EFI ? is bottom end stock ? the more you put in your sig the more likely someone might chime in , otherwise its like saying over the phone hay doc I dont feel good whats wrong !
