The real question is why not 8?:roflmao:

Has anyone even successfully ran 4 with no tuning issues... Or any issues at all for that matter for a decent length of time...

6 is beyone overkill, these blocks sometimes can't even handle 3 on a well built setup.

In his sig his goal is 4 . Like the rest are saying I don't see the necessity unless he's going to turbo charge his defrosters.

Unless they are miniature turbos, I don't see how they will fit. There is barely room for three under the hood. Maybe stick a few in the bed? Lol

The 4 charger is a front engine dragster project for the future, the 6 is a different race only I am currently working on which I may have to make a bump in the hood to work out. Its not a tiny Chevy, its an 85 long bed with plenty of room:thumb:

I may just start with a conservative 100psi in the engine I plan to run 6 on, however I have no set plan on how to set the 6 up, 3 sets of compounds or 2 sets of triple compounds.

I may run 15 or 15.5 to 1 compression? If we speak of flow we must not stop at what the turbos flow, we must include both manifolds (intake & exhaust) our cylinder heads too. You can have the baddest turbo and have a crap head and you still wouldn't be top dog you would just overheat your charge. I also have an idea on trying to extract more from the turbine wheel, hopefully in my theory I can ease turbine operation, if not you always learn something.

Fingers, do you make wide bowl pistons at all? not just the ovals?

You can make 100psi with two turbos you know...

OK guys, we have strayed way off topic here.

Jim, you haven't been paying attention. Ovals are the shape they are because they are stronger that way.

Well Fingers, my thought is wider shallow bowl because the combustion isn't down in the crown upon blow-down, if there is left over exhaust gas the shallow should (belief) promote a quicker evacuation. One thought I have had in mind is the deeper bowls, I think, help some spent gases reside in the bowl, which contaminates the next charge more than if we designed and timed the combustion chamber to empty more, sooner. In turn, shallow wide bowl. I am not sure if my premiss will be proven, maybe that is just a while down the road if it would happen.

Being stronger, that is a great attribute that you have brought to the table. I applaud you, I really do. Innovation is good stuff!

Ben, I know I can make 100 with 2, I never said I would end up with 100psi period, my exhaust, head and intake will dictate my end boost level as well as my bottom end structure. BTW, its not a Dmax engine 6 turbos will be used for those wondering, I however will be using Dmax pistons and kustom rods :D My crazy head projects just may be worth the time for some apps.

If I had 8 cylinders (for those that brought it up) on this one I would probably try 4 pairs or compounds :thumb: but we'll save that for later on a V8.

Any ways, Fingers. Do you think there would be a cylinder blow-down difference from a wide shallow bowl versus your oval crown? I know Greg runs the shallow stuff, I would have too look but I have a part number written down on my build sheet that is a WISECO piston (I am still looking for which one I may buy when I am ready).

I am curious between the bowl designs :thumb:

How far are the top ringland from a stocker? If I were to contemplate ordering your product when it comes time, do we choose where the ring lands become machined?

I know why you coat the pistons skirts, and the top coating is for heat protection but is there any other reasons for coating the top vs. polishing?
