Cop cut thru a area that was shut down for filming to get to a call.

Wonder if the film crew could still be at fault. I know it was a closed off area, but I would still think Police/emergency still have right of way

I would guess the film crew would NOT be at fault, because they pay the police to shut down the road for exactly that reason. They don't have to follow normal traffic rules on shut down roads, so I would be EXTREMELY surprised if they are held responsible for the accident. In my opinion, the cop is at fault.

Unless things are not as they appear. I am assuming the street was shut down, etc.

Yea the street was shut down. That was right in DC if you look you can see the Capital building in the back ground. And with all the cops on the street you would thing that someone would of said something to them hey were coming thru the shut down street.

Other cop cars were parked in the scene. My first thought was a mis-cue / bad timing for an action scene.

Im surprised the bags deployed on the suburban, didnt look like that hard a hit from the suburbans point of view?? The camaro hit the burban hard, going pretty fast, but IMO it absorbed the impact well. I would definitely feel safe in one after watching this video of a "real life" crash...

The cop driving the burban did a good job in trying to avoid the accident, the camaro driver clearly wasnt paying attention at all and didnt really do anything except slam on the brakes at the last second. The fact that the ABS/stability control on the camaro was obviously disabled probably didnt help the situation.....

The Camaro driver was following a preset course so that he would meet up with the rest, the cop was where he shouldn't have been and so the Camaro driver was probably more WTF then I need to miss this moron. Realize they were shooting a scene for a movie and the Camaro was trying to hit his 'mark'. Also I don't think that is really a Camaro. The last 2 movies it was a heavily modified GTO with a custom Camaro body over it. If they are still using the same car as the last 2 movies I'd be surprised if the ABS etc was anywhere near that car much less operational.

What he said.... The idiot cop should have read the department memos about the movie being filmed in the area... The whole idea behind closing the street is so that the people in the movie don't HAVE to watch for traffic and such(and so said traffic isn't in the movie)... ABS and Airbags where probably non-existent in Bumblebee.

I've been hit by a cop car responding to a emergency. Coming from behind me at 75mph through a blind intersection. I heard him a split sec before he hit me and and tried to get out of the way or he would of hit me in the drivers door. Took it to court and the judge ruled it was my fault..."Not yielding the right of way" bastard. Ya I'm still bitter about that.

That's bull . When responding to an emergency, weather it's police, fire or EMS, the responding vehicle is supposed to slow down when approaching an intersection, make sure it's clear then go... no blasting through intersections at 75mph.
