Why would you be scared? Too rigid in the back and too loose up front will cause the housing to crack?

Different Chassis, but I put a Energy Suspension poly t-case mount in my K20 with new rubber motor mounts and ended up snapping the hefty cast iron T-Case adapter.

Was told if you are going to have solid in one location and flexy in another to bolt the motor solid and let the transmission/t-case have some give. Pretty expensive lesson as the TH350/NP205 adapters were not cheap at the time (plus the labor to swap it out).

Thanks, that's good info right there. I just put in Merchant motor mounts and the energy transmission mount in my lbz, so I should be good there?

And on the flip side, I shouldn't run the energy trans mount with stock/broken motor mounts on my lb7/zf6?

Sorry for the thread jack Mike, figured this would be a good place to ask these noob questions..

I did a 4x4 spool up test with my hood open to make sure the motor wasn't flexing much with the bolted mounts.

It looked good. Motor barely moved spooling to 20 psi.

I wouldnt run a stiff trans mount and stock engine mounts no, I will let my bolted engine mounts keep it from rotating. Let the trans mount just keep it all centered. If you crack a zf your looking for Used parts to fix it. I just wouldn't take the chance.

Glad u got her held in tight mike:thumb:

Do you guys think I'll have a problem running this bolted mount with it being rigid?

I don't want to risk a broken bell housing or something.

If it were me, i would run only 2 bolts in the trans mount. Put one on each side dead center of the mount and bolt in. this way, as the motor torques up, the trans mount can still allow twising flex without hurting the bellhousing or other mounts/parts but yet you still have the security knowing the mount wont be shifting side to side or up and down.

Good thinking.
