So what dose the standard s400 come with? I remember Pat using one and ran something like low 11's said it was a good charger for the price but he went back to the gt4202r for the 10's

With the right trans tuning, all the suggestions above will go 11's and still be suitable for a daily driver.

PM Mike L and ask how Casper runs on the street with a GT42Mag.

Yes, I can go a couple tenths quicker with the GT4202 than the S400 (3.0"), but the S400 has a wider operating RPM.

No one has stated the cheapest, and easiest option, yet.

Put it on the Juice!

I thought so as well. :D

Install the biggest charger you are willing to "drive around" and "tickle it" up on the charger, add another stage if you wanna go faster. Best of both worlds.

The trucks i have experienced with large chargers have a "hole" in the powerband. It feels like you can get around OK with a light pedal, but when you want to sprint away from a stoplight... it's all mushy, not responsive and crispy. I suppose tuning can get away from some of this... but we are talking about compressor sections the size of softballs right?

Is the gt4294r about the same size as the aurora 5000? I installed a 5K on a LBZ stock cp3 with a PPE programmer and it wasn't that bad as far as the lag i could see were dual cp3's would make it better along with a good EFI tune.

Yes & no, inducer yes, exhaust is T3 & smaller thats why they spool faster than a 4294

im running a gt 42 and it acts like a stock turbo on lag and gets about 65 psi boost at full throtle

gt4294r, gt4202r or gt42 mag

Now that is what I'm looking for stock lag with 65psi at WOT

I don't know a hole lot about turbos but I'm in the learning process

Only thing I've got is a 44 magnum :D

Since you're talking about twins, does anyone know what the second turbo is and size on the MPI kit? I've got the stock charger but a single CP3 and there is a lot of lag off the line...at least here at higher altitude. I just loaded a tune by IdahoRob and haven't checked it out at Bandimere yet to compare to the original tune that had my turning 13.3 in the 1/4 at 5860 ft (but a 74 deg day with low pressure equivalent to over 8000' altitude). I was really hoping to be in the 12's here and my wife use it as a daily driver...

Thanks,
David

I just saw this thread. It is somewhat tying into my thoughts (on another thread I started a couple day's ago) about my need to reduce drive pressure/EGT from my current GT4094 set-up.
I am also considering a GT4202R ........but I'm concerned about towing my 10K lb. toy-hauler.
Can anybody comment on the 1.01 exhaust housing on the 4202 and how hard it is to tow with?????
I have pretty-much found the limit of the 4094 and need a little more..........but it is a big 'jump' from 4094 to 4202 (I don't think the 4294 is much better???)

codyn, I see your truck is a little laggy at low rpm(comes-on hard though!!!).............which housing are you running?????

Thanks, Ed.

The turbo spools nice but I wouldn't say it is any different than others. I'm running a 4202 1.28A/R and it spools pretty much the same as that. The tires break loose just after the 2nd gear shift.
