stock no
mild built IMO would be a better term for it.
since in my case only thing that one could say was imporved are the woodruff keys, rods, and main studs. everything else is stock grade including the .040 over LB7 cast pistons

I belive built is built. I'm sure where were at now is a far cry from built 2 or 3 years down the road though. I'm not running the new HD main caps (yet). The rods and head studs is a great start (inject hold downs and studs on LB7 go hand in hand with this too). This is good insurance for the budget build. I would be scared of having confidence and blowing it again if I only did this. I know me.

I'd say yours is a built engine. Mild, but nonetheless, built. IMO once the rods are swapped and pistons modified, it's built.

Fully built would be that last option - rods, pistons, cam, heads, injectors, etc.

anytime the engine has been opened up and any parts changed, its "built" IMO.

even just throwing rods in, I consider that built; there are non-stock parts in it, are there not?

I used to have a "built" motor. It was fun.

Seriously, I'd say even just rods would be considered "built". Not to be confused with fully built, or built like a brick shiithouse, built ta da hilt. Most folk who modify their cars, trucks, bikes, don't go into the engine.

IMO- its built when you have replaced all the parts known to fail with better parts. For a DMAX rods and pistons, what else fails?

I think this topic runs a parallel with what the definition of "streetable" and "daily driven" is, its based on opinion and a modicome of common sense or lack therof.

X2, Im with Pat.

Ive used built
and
Fully Built

Built = Pistons or rods, or both

Fully built = pistons, rods, headstuds, and at least 3 more HD parts lol.
