can i get a small enough s400 that can tow heavy without moving the towing rpm up too high?

our sled pulling rules are vague but some pulls do say "single turbo only" and especially a few people noticed halfway through the pulling season my truck whistled just a tad more than earlier in the season and that there was a downpipe in the fenderwell... lol they will probably be making that a uniform rule around here next year.....

I see in your sig stock trany why not built that first and then get a bigger charger.

I had a 66/71/14 htt and liked it alot.

I can get you a small S400 that will still tow fine. How heavy are we talking about towing and in what terrain? My S475 will still tow a 10,000 lb trailer with no problems. I had to adjust some shift points but it will build boost at 1600 RPM and keep EGTs in check. We've also towed 10K with an S472 with a looser housing with no issues.

skint.. already have had parts on order for several weeks. well aware that i should be upgrading my trans. parts were supposed to be delivered two weeks ago tomorrow. going to try and get a refund and order from elsewhere because waiting for this person to actually ship this stuff is pissing me off. already have somebody else with parts in stock ready to ship to me as soon as i get my refund.

dustin, some of the trailers i pull are in the area of 20k loaded and i tow everywhere from sea level to through the mountains. been through the rockies a couple times with my twins so i'm spoiled on having enough air ;) it has to be reliable and be a "jack of all" charger like my 4088 was. small enough to spool quick and at low rpm for towing and big enough to go sled pulling at high rpm on the weekends. and most importantly not break the bank once my twins are sold

lol still looking  trying to decide what i really want to buy... a multi family to use as an investment property, or a small house on a big piece of land in the middle of nowhere to make my home. got the down-payment ready just gotta find something i can be happy with. i'm hard to please when it comes to spending several hundred thousand bucks lol

but in the meantime did a couple big part time jobs with a influx of $$ for some truck toys that i know will make me smile lol

the multi family is looking like my choice so far tho, renters can buy my house AND more truck toys for me!!! i'll live in the attic or the basement!!!:D:D

If that is the case I like the HTT 66/71 for it's internal gate and all around performance. It has alot more potential than the 4088.

You could do also do an S466 with 83mm turbine and it would be cheaper than the HTT but wouldn't have an internal gate. Like Justin said it would leave you open to swap the compressor wheel and housing to something bigger in the future.

what are the differences between the s366 and s466?

The S466 is on a t-4 ped S366 is on t-3 ped , and the turbine wheel is way different , the HTT is usually a 71mm exducer and i believe Dustin said the S466 was a 83mm exducer , I would think the S466 would be a bit more laggy than the HTT, but would probably make more power with the bigger turbine side .

the difference is that the s466 is a larger frame charger with a small wheel (same as a s366) a larger compressor cover, and out flows the 366 by quite a bit. The s300 is a phisically smaller charger in size.

The S366 (and HTT) usually has a 71mm exducer on the turbine. The S466 has an 83mm inducer. I can't remember the exact specs off the top of my head for the 366 inducer or the 466 exducer - IIRC the 366 is 82/71 and the 466 is 83/72 - so over-all the turbine wheels are very close in size and the 466 isn't very laggy at all. Main difference is the frame, shaft, and overall size and that the 366's T3 pedestal is available with an internal waste-gate.

Ya that make sence knowing you were talking about the inducer and not the exducer .
