I have a 05 3500 crew cab dually I use the truck to tow a 35 ft travel trailer . I have all the basic mods exhaust , efi , inner cooler , mishomotto radiator all mods are around towing . well it is time to rebuild trans . not having problems but did limp it a couple of times . I'm taking a 08 Allison , using my 05 bell housing and valve body . using raybestes gpz clutch power packs in c1-c4 and c5 ray power pack not gpzs. complete oem Allison gaskets with molded pistons new torrnington bearings . e-shift spring have bore tool converters I'm looking at are sun coast 1056 ppe black converter , ats 5 star and dpc converter . trucks is around 400 hp that's a est . so I'm not making big power we travel all over in this thing camping so it has to be reliable and yes I have been in the Allison have access to all special tools and information

I've had my mikeL converter in for almost 100,000 miles and still locks up like when it was first put in. Been a great converter for me. I've done everything with the truck from towing heavy to racing and sled pulling to daily driving.
I'm somewhere in the low 400's, and IMO the precision ml is to loose for my taste. Mine is the 1800 stall version, and on my daily driver tune I don't get lockup until 4th gear. I believe the ppe black is a painted pi ml. I've ridden in trucks with the 1056, and felt it was to tight. Best bet is to call SUNCOAST, GOEREND, and so on, and ask what they reccomend. I know Mike has a new converter he's selling that has alot of good reviews on.
The PPE black converter is a Goerend MLC and is tighter than the Precision Industries pink ML and couples better also.
I had the ppe black converter in my lbz that I daily drove and pulled a 12k lb camper with and I was extremely happy with it. Coupled and drove great with the stock turbo, lock up was not harsh at all. It was to tight for a 4094vvt
I installed a ppe stage 5 kit with the black converter in a friends truck and he has been really happy with it . thank you for all the responses I have a sun coast 1056 in another friends truck which tows 43 ft 5th wheel he is really happy with it been in his truck for four years now I just was thinking of trying something new thanks mike for kind words you are always brutally honest

Couldn't remember which was which. I know the ml was nice until I brought the power up over 400 or so, then lockup in 2nd went bye bye.
