Im wanting to re gear my truck to make it better for pulling. I am currently on stock gears (3.73) and dont feel I am loading my motor to its full potential (695 hp). I still use the truck on the farm when pulling season is over. Im running 305/65/17 all the way around with duals on the back. Going down the track Im running 30 psi of boost, 1560 +/- EGTs and 26k rail pressure. When the pan hits me my boost jumps to 38 +/- psi
Everyone around here is running 4.56 gears and shifting to 4th but most of them pull only. I also have heard of guys running 3.42 and staying in 3rd.
Thanks for the input.

If I towed I would have went to 4.56. I went to 3.42 because I want to hit up the drag strip and pulling track the next weekend. The 3.42 will lug the engine and I have twins with a 1055 and its still laggy. Don't get me wrong you can still tow with 3.42 I just wouldn't like it.

BTW my truck should have came from the factory with 3.42. Best change I have made to date.
