I have been traveling a lot lately and everyones been missing me. My wife says my dog looks out the window when a diesel drives by. Well yesterday I was leaving for out of town loading up the truck. My dog was sitting inside the door while it was propped open watching me. After coming back inside to grab the last of my stuff she took off out the door at a dead run. Normally she minds really well, but we thought the neighbors cat was out or something. I went out after her...

She has never ridden in my work truck so its strange for her get into it.

That's a cool story. When I was 18 and still lived with my parents, my mom told me that my lab always ran to the door when she heard my truck coming down the street. She could tell the difference between other vehicles and mine:thumb:

I deploy overseas on frequent short trips, everytime I go my dog knows when I'm leaving. Doesn't eat for a few days, acts mopey, etc. But while I'm gone, whenever my bro drives my truck for me, and parks it back at my parents house, my dogs out at the gate waiting to see if it's me lol.

I park next to a rock wall and my black lab learned how to jump from the wall into the bed of my truck, like he thinks he gets to go somewhere just because hes in the back :)

That's funny because my male jumps into my bed whenever I come home in my hunting cloths. I guess he thinks I'm better than I am because most times it's empty. Btw he does it over the bed rail from the blacktop.

No matter what you do your dog will always be happy to see you.

She knows when her and I are going somewhere. So she goes and sits by the tailgate. Twice before she was really excited and tried to jump into the bed before I opened it. The problem is I have a Retrax bed cover so she has it all scratched up. I wanted to beat her, but a little correction is all it took. Now she sits at the tailgate.

I feel you. I've been working out of town for the last couple months away from family, girlfriend, home, and both dogs. My girlfriend says my border collie and aussie both lay right by the door looking out waiting for me to come back. It'll pull on the ol heart strings for sure. I'll be home soon:thumb:
