I welcome more aftermarket duramax support for sure. The best thing that could happen to our hobby and make it more affordable would be to have as much support and following as the small block Chevy.
How ever when it comes to the difference between gas and diesel rods I have been amazed. Most performance gas motor rod failures are due to stretching from high RPM and the diesels seem to compress and bend them.

One of you stupidly rich dudes needs to have your other rich buddy with time for R&D make a set of rods for the Duramax and then sell them at a price no one can refuse. You can offset the cost with finally being the guy to pioneer something affordable that works. With the amount of rods to be sold someone needs to. :thumb:

Ya it kind of blows my mind that rods and pistons are still as expensive as ever even though there are a pile of different companies out there making them now.

And the part that gets me is the insane amount of profit being made off the stuff. As popular as these trucks are there could be a market. It just comes down to how cheap can you sell it, and how much profit loss are you willing to take. Some people want 100% profit while others are okay with making anything over cost.

Just an update on these, Well if my source is correct, Oliver will be at SEMA with the D Max rod to re introduce it to the market. We will see.

I called my supplier today and he checked on the Oliver rods and the availibility. Oliver told him they should be ready the 3rd week of January. Just an FYI for anyone getting ready to do a build.
