So can you adapt this engine to a early sm465? I have a old truck that I just got tranny work done on sm465 and I would like to swap in a turbo diesel right now it has a 1970 454 in it so wiring stuff is not my specialty I have a 1985 Chevy c6000 ramp truck so a diesel would be a big money saver. But I was thinking of tossing a cummins in there and mate that with a adaptor to the sm465

A cummins would probably be the better choice for your set up if wiring isn't a strong point. I know a dream car of mine is basically identical to the '67 dmax camaro but I know my abilities are no where near where they would need to be. A 12v is probably the easiest motor swap out there wiring wise.
