I have a 66 chevy c20 and an 03 duramax to put in it. Does anyone have any ideas for simplifying the wiring for this project. I'd like to eliminate things like ABS, AC, air bags and some others and be left with just the essentials. I'm going to use the 03 gauge cluster and steering column so everything will plug back in. Can EFI live get rid of this stuff so that it all works without throwing codes?

Umm Yes yes yes and yes. Ive done it to a 72 blazer. The abs and stuff you don't want you just cut it out abs and airbag lights will be on but those can be removed from the cluster. I however used 90% of the dmax harness and I added power locks and windows of my ow custom fab using 73 and up regulators modded by me
It basically boils down to your skill level. My truck runs the Lb7 Twin turbo'd Suncoast Allison w 6 speed conversion, Dana 60 driver side drop front axle w big brakes and abs, 205 Driver side drop tcase, AMM rear axle w disks, I did NOT use the factory column Nor ignition switch its all hooked up to my factory ign switch w use of some diodes and thought.
Putting the 205 onto the Allison and making it electronic speedo was fun. mating the factory fuel pickup, cup and sender unit to the factory tank was fun too.
But it all depends on you really

Or you can go bare bones and run your trucks cluster and have virtually nothing for wiring like I did. I could have easily added in everything from my donor and only had an airbag warining light for no passenger side airbag, but I opted for teh KISS way and made it into a sleeper.

Well about a year later and almost done with the build. The wiring and the rest of the hard tasks are done. Just need to finish up some small details.

I'd like to see an under hood pic.
