right about the time when the sugar barons raised the price of domestic sugar and Coke started using High Fructose Corn Syrup. Doesn't taste the same. I don't care what you call it. Drink a Coke anywhere outside the USA and you will notice a difference. They use real sugar or sucrose (cane juice). Not here though.

Problem is SONY wouldn't open the standard and JVC did.

I use Beta every day. In professional settings it's more robust and has better picture quality than VHS.

3 channels plus PBS. Apollo 11 in B&W. Walter Cronkite. HeeHaw and Emergency on Saturday nights. Walt Disney was on Sundays. Sesame Street was the educational show, but Electric Company was the "hip" show.

No internet, no video games (until Pong).....we actually had to go outside and play.
