So I finally doing my LBZ short block. I'm using stock rods (new take offs) cut LB7 pistons, arp studs (of course because thats the reason of this!) if budget allows, Big Dipper injectors. Anybody have any performance tips before this goes together? Oh, and if anybody has any left over misc stuff from thier builds that they want to unload, let me know

The biggest tip would be use aftermarket rods. Secondly just uses a quality machine shop for your services and take your time. Also use some good rings.

aftermarket rods arent in budget. Using perfect circle moly rings. machine shop is known for his drag motors.

Personally if the machine shop has not done a D-Max i would get another shop to do it.....JMHO

Why do a build if your not using aftermarket rods? Did you blow the stocker?

blew hg on LB7. It's got high milage. so rather than keep this one goin, I got an LBZ block. I see there's some decent power here on stock rods. I gotta keep my truck runnin' but more importantly, I have to pay my mortgage.

I understand on paying the bills man. If there is a way to swing it you will be dollars ahead on the rods though. Good luck.
