I use Mobil 5w40 synthetic.

He referring to the fact that everyone sticks to their favorite oil and this can turn into a pissing contest... It's true.

Use a good diesel oil, decide if you want synthetic or not. Try different kinds, you and your engine will decide on one you both like. Some motors burn rotella and some don't. No rhyme or reason.

I'm currently running 5W40 MOBIL because it was on sale last year at AZ for a price I couldn't refuse. I prefer ROTELLA T6 5W40 though. I don't get the infamous typewriter click with the ROTELLA 5W40, but I dod with every other oil I have tried. Also I held better hot oil pressure with the ROTELLA than I do MOBIL(not much, I hold about 30 with the MOBIL, but ROTELLA rarely dropped below 35 even hot towing).

Most brand name diesel oils will work fine. But don't buy the super cheap filters. But you don't need the top price ones too. I run Rotella. I have ran RP, Amsoil, Mobil, and a bunch of others. I run the Rotella right now as a buddy gave me 2 5gal pails of it as he no longer has a diesel.

Just order Mobil or AC Delco filter from Amazon. They're pretty cheap. And never ever get an orange one!

Delo and Delvac are probably the best oils you can get for the price. I've ran Delo for 16k and it was still good per a UOA.

Exactly. Everyone has their preference. This is like deodorant. Or toilet paper.
