What about an adapter to the oil pan drain bolt?

Also on the oil cooler/filter area theres a plug, what about there?

Hey bud, after you asked me about a gauge the other day I finally got off my ass and got one ordered. LOL

If you look on the oil filter/cooler housing there are a couple of ports you can tap into that give you both pre- and post-cooler temps. I'll find you links to some pics.

post-cooler (location is on the bottom when installed in the truck)
pre-cooler; first pic in this post, the port with the blue arrow pointing towards the filter mount (location is on top when installed in the truck)
thanks for the pics Josh!!

Dont know about his but mine run about 180-190 during everyday driving. Highest Ive seen is 209.

You drivin' Miss Daisy?

I've seen 250+ when towing.

Before I added the oil cooler normal was 220-230.

After adding normal is 190-200.

The big difference with the cooler is noticed towing, 220ish.

All numbers taken from the port before the OE cooler in the filter housing.

Thought the MSD DashHawk would do that for me - it does not - all 3 parameters for oil temp read N/A .....
