Question: Oil pressure goes back up after oil/filter change?

The last time I changed my oil I used Mobil Delvac and a genuine Delco oil filter (I think I had a Fram filter on it before I changed it) I noticed my oil pressure was lower while driving, about 45 at highway speed vs 55-60 prior to changing. I didn't worry too much about it but it seemed strange. Yesterday when I changed oil and filter, I used Mobil Delvac and a Mobil M1-303 filter and my oil pressure is back to where it was, 60 at highway speed and engine is definitely quieter. Can anybody tell me why the Delco filter would seem to cause lower oil pressure? Anybody else experience this?

Crappy filter? Or better filter element?

I know delco stuff is not the level it used to be, I run wix/napa gold on my truck.

Mobil M1-303 is supposed to be one of the best filters you can use on a Duramax, I think I would have to agree although I'm not entirely convinced that higher oil pressure means it's a better filter.

Fram uses paper ends on their elements I have cut a few open and found the ends separated from the element providing no filtration what so ever...

How do you know? I usually run the Delco but sometimes Fram.

Just from what mechanic friend has mentioned to me, and of course, the all knowing internet forum jockeys. Apparently ACDelco was prior to bankruptcy and now the AC-Delco is not the same quality of original stuff prior. Do I have proof? No, but again, I run Wix/Napa gold stuff anywho.

I'd rather use a sock than a fram "filter"
