Oil pressure 10-11psi hot idle, fresh rebuild

I got an oil filter cutter tool in and dissected the oil filter, and quite a bit of metal in there, once I get caught up on other things I’ll get the pan pulled and see what I come up with. Thanks for the help guys.

It was a fresh machined block, so it could be debris left over from machining, but I’d rather be safe and check it out

No.... quality machine shop doesn’t let that happen. That kind of thing kills a new engine quickly if that’s the case. I’ve built many Duramax’s and never had my machine shop leave stuff like that in the block.

you could send an oil sample to the labs. that may give you a hint of what area may be failing
