Hey guys seems to be problem after problem with my truck but i guess thats how it is lol. But this time it is an oil leak coming from from the front driver side of the truck. I was driving the truck yesterday and got a “check oil pressure” light on the dash and the guage was reading 0 oil pressure didnt think much of it as my oil guage has been faulty since i bought the truck. Walked outside to leave work and there was a puddle of oil (looked about less then a quart). Decided to drive her the 3 miles back home where i found drops of oil following the truck. Any ideas? Im hoping i dont have to build the engine just yet lol.

On the LB7, there is a PCV vent on the right front of the engine (open pipe next to the balancer). Too much blow by and you may get oil coming from the drain.
I havent seen any blow by coming from the truck infact i just went out to check. It also seems as tho its been leaking over night but a little puddle not a ton
front driver could be power steering, water pump o-ring died, front main seal, oil pressure sensor blew apart (most likely the issue if your gauge is dead, 01-02 clusters don't loose the gauges like 03-07) or some gasket pushed out.

Risk is the name of the game hahaha. But i was looking inyo it and was thinking it could possibly be the oil pressure sensor. Im gonna try to send a picture of what it looks like right now
What about an oil pressure sender? I keep seeing it pop up on forums of people that have the same problem that im having but when i go to look up an “oil pressure sender” i cant find anything just an oil pressure sensor. But it seems they are two different parts the senor toward the back and the sender toward the front. Anyone know anthinf about this?
your sensor/sender is at the front off the #1 main. 03-up is off the #3 main.
sender and sensor are being used as the same thing in the research you are doing

So i did some looking around and think i found the problem. There doesnt seem to be oil leaking from above this spot, i just need confirmation that this is the oil pressure sensor (to the left of the pitman arm in the second pic). Also there seems to be a lighter ring around my oil, it could have just dried but wanna be for sure so let me know what you guys think

Yes, thats the oil pressure sensor. Yes, its leaking. Had the exact same sensor on my Aurora go bad. Sometimes the black bodies will crack.

Is low at idle (probably 10-12 psi) when I accelerate is goes up but think its wierd because it use to be at 40+ psi at idle. Truck runs fine just dont know what it can be. Only think i can think of is the oil pressure guage switch isnt fully tightned because if how difficult it was to fit a wrench in there. Any thoughts?

Good to hear. I tried to find the oil pressure through my cts 2 but for whatever reason i guess thats not an option with my truck so im thinking tomorrow i might hook up a cheap mechanical guage from autozone or whatever
well, if there was infact fuel in oil as gmduramax suggested and looks like in the pic OR if you ran that thing with actually NO to LITTLE oil pressure due to the blown out sensor, you probably hurt the bearings.
you need to verify the pressure with either a mechanical gauge or a scanner that can read oil pressure to make sure its not the gauge thats off. mechanical gauge would verify if oil pressure is actually good without needing to know if the sensor/gauge are good.

I would do an oil change at the very least and save some for a oil test at Blackstoneor at least a paper towel test. If the pressure goes up noticably after new oil then be highly suspicious of fuel in the oil and I'd be pulling the valve covers to inspect.
