No. They are a MF sometimes to get out. Just gotta work it.
Lots of times they get a build up of rust and dirt behind the o-ring making a little ridge that you gotta pull the o-ring past.
I've had to burn the o-ring out before.

I got it out.....but I think my headgasket(new) is leaking oil as well if thats possible. Or a cover valve gasket. I'll start a new tread with pictures

Yeah that rear stud on the driver's side sometimes hit the valve cover and prevents it from sealing. I've heard of that happening to a couple people.

Im pretty sure I see a gap. And I didnt know I had to clearance the cover when installing studs. I put my money on that, it's too big a leak to be headgasksets. Thanks for figuring it out for me ! I'll try to slip a feeler gauge at that spot to confirm.

How long did it take to get the valve cover out this time ?

Well if that rear stud would have seated the same way as the rest it wouldn't have been a problem. I don't know if that hole is shorter in some people's blocks or what...it's not a common problem but from what I've seen, there have been at least a few that have had this problem.

I R&R'ed that valve cover 4 times in 3 days I think, can't remember exactly how long it took but I want to say maybe 45 minutes...it's not anywhere near as difficult when you don't have to tear down the entire top of the engine.

Injectors have to come out, injector harness unbolted and moved to the side, main engine harness disconnected, and bracket unbolted and moved...I did it when the engine was cold too, and was able to remove the hose from the hard coolant line without losing any coolant, then loosened the hard line and rotated it up out of the way.

faster than I thought. Maybe you have more room to work with in the 1999 though ! As long as it's doable in a day shouldnt be too bad. Wish I had known before !

ok word of advice. You CANNOT get the tube back in the cooler even if you remove the waterpump studs. Tried, failed. Have to take it back off, put tube in when the cooler is slack and about to fall off.
