LBZ: Oil leak, but what part?

Climbed under the cab today to check an ABS light and noticed this build up of oil about mid cap. I tried my best to take photos that show the location. Any idea what’s causing this?

Trans rear cover to t-case gasket?

Pull the rear plug out from the Trans harness. See if it’s wet inside. It shouldn’t be, but I’ve seen those internal harness leak and fill that electrical plug so much that it makes a mess at the back of the tranny.

I had the pump rub kit installed a few ears back, so hopefully this is the case, as the seals and housing should be good to go.

If the harness is leaking, would I be looking at a new harness or just plugging it?

If the harnes is leaking you will need to replace it. It’s under the tranny pan, so you’ll need fluid and filters while your at it.

I appreciate the responses guys.

I usually do big maintenance stuff at the end of every year, and I don’t see myself putting more than 2,000 more miles on it before then, is this something that can wait or do I need to worry about it now?

If it is the harness then it can wait, but you need to findout where it's coming from for sure.

Unplug it and see. Then go from there.
