I just talked to my parents, over 2 feet at our house back in CT. They lost power yesterday afternoon so the generator has been running for about 16 hours straight now, hopefully they dont run out of propane...

My dad is up skiing in VT while my mom stayed at home, so I had to teach her how to drive the tractor to plow the driveway via cell phone.

You sled heads should visit valdez alaska. I work down here on the pipeline and it snows like none other. I've seen as much as 6 feet in 8 hours.

Schulte told me that there were sleds ripping up and down I95 last night.

When we had our blizzard in december i took I90/I94/I39 with a tractor. It was the clearest way home from where i ended up after pulling twenty some cars out and giving our excavation guy a ride to the distribution center he plows.

We got THREE FEET at our house unreal I cannot recall getting this much at one time! The state, this area,is paralyzed . Most roads at best are one lane . Many side streets are barely open. Busines aren't touched. Yes all roads are closed state and local i just got back from droping the wife off and drove around checking things out and my opinion is It'll be a week at best before things are close to being normal.

I got 12 hours into it last night and get this the 7.3 I was in died... Figures was hoping for a good pay day for the trans fund. But on the bright side only. Took me my brother and father 4 hours to clean out drive way with 2 snow blowers and the plow truck. And we got power as soon as we dug the generator out of the shed in the back yard.

Me and my buddy rode from my house today. We had to break trail to get to the groomed NH trail system. Awesome powder riding, but after BURYING the sleds 5 or 6 times we finally said F it and turned around and ripped the streets home:woott:. Time for me to upgrade to a sled with a 136" track I think.

17hrs is it? Wish ii could say that.Wow. We must have alot more accounts or something. Had over 36hrs straight and still have to do some more after some sleep i got a few hrs ago. Plowin is a blast tho. Been doin it for my dads company since i was 7 in a skidsteer and now im 28. Many long days in those 20yrs and wouldnt trade it for anything. Fun as hell. Im not sure if the odometer reads in reverse tho. Never payed attention.
Would love to get 3ft of snow. Would be work for 2-3 weeks straight. $$$$$$$$

Had over 36hrs straight

over 36 hours straight huh....well seeing as after only 21 hours of operating a motor vehicle, you are more impaired with someone with a BAC of .08%. You can only "TOUGH IT OUT" and "MAN UP BECAUSE THE JOB GOT'ST TO GET DONE!!!" for so long before the human body just cant take it anymore, coupled with the stress of plowing/driving.

Unless you're superman, which you might be, considering you were driving and plowing (two things that take a pretty decent amount of coordination, a lot more so than just driving on a highway) for "over 36 hours straight without stopping".

Done over 30+hrs 100s of times. U have to remember, its not striaght driving. U are out do walkways, loading and unloading machines, loading the salters ect. And i dont need sleep like most people. I work 10-15hrs a day for 4-5months straight so an occasional 30+ isnt to bad. After i got back i still played with my 2kids, ate dinner. I know many people in the snow removal business that work 25-30hrs straight. U work when work is there, u cant stop and rest.

Anyone have any pics from the big storm out east? Cars, trucks, loaders, or even sleds? Just fun seein that stuff. Most we have got here at once in my lifetime was 20-24in i think. Couldnt imagine 3ft+ at once. How much fell an hr?

stats are for the general public.

When you learn to farm, you learn long hours. We chopped for 35hrs straight one night to get done in time. Yes the job has to get done.

Avoiding caffiene, getting excercise, fresh air, some good tunes and a 10 minute break here or there makes it easy.

I tend to work better on less sleep. Had many 48hr days. i don't so much driving on thos days though. Once i hit the seat, i get sleepy. keep moving and its not an issue.

Remember, turn the heater off.
