How would you deal with some rock chops in the chrome? I would like to do this but with the chips would it be best to have the chrome taken off?

I removed all the chrome and it was a PITA. I used bedliner on the grill to cover imperfections from taking the chrome off "aggressively" .. Came out good...

OP your truck is very nice!

Sand, scrape, peel, or some other form of carnage. Then some sanding with multiple grits followed by layering a shi* ton of product lol. My best guess

damn man I was going to try this whole thing on my truck since it hadn't been done before..I was going to keep my black GMC and mesh out the grille and paint black and add SS bolts like u did..I just don't have my truck to do it and now it's been done I don't wanna do it anymore:(
