So I noticed the fuel hoses to and from the fuel filter head are cracked and need to be replaced. Looking on line it looks like there are 5 hoses in the fuel system, some after the fuel filter. Truck is stock so I don't have a lift pump. Will priming the fuel filter help get all the air out of the fuel system before I start the truck or do I need to do something else to get rid of the air after the fuel filter head? What will happen if I don't get all the air out of the fuel system before I start the truck? Last thing I want to do is change these fuel hoses and then screw up the injectors.

You shouldn't have a problem at all with the air. Just reprime it when you get done I've pulled my lines off too many times and never have had any problems. Go to napa and get their fuel line it's way cheaper sae30r7.

install lines, open the bleeder screw, pump the primer until you see steady fuel coming out, close the bleeder screw and continue to pump. Have someone start on the truck while you keep pumping. Should start up after just a few seconds and be good to go! :thumb:

As stated, just prime the filter head and you'll be fine after installing the new lines. Just did 2 of the these when replacing filter head and lines.

Awesome. Thanks guys. I like to have the satisfaction knowing I made the repair and saved some $$$$ at the same time.

OK guys I got the fuel hoses to and from the filter head replaced. I still need to replace these hoses:
- Injection Pump Return hose
- Pump Feed Hose
- Short Fuel Hose to injector module
- Hose To Schrader Valve

I think I can remove the alternator to get to the short fuel hose and the one to the schrader valve. But the other two seem to be a little harder to get to. Looks like I'll have to remove the thermostat housing/hard pipe, maybe the A/C compressor, but most of all the plastic housing for the wire harness that goes from the drivers side to the passenger side to get to them. Is this right or am I over thinking how to get to them?
