Dropped off Pontiac engine at machine shop on Monday, waiting for them to call me back to say it is done and then I will rebuild it in the garage.

Looking at a new car for girlfriend. She currently has a 2017 Toyota Corolla. I am thinking about a TDI Passat or Jetta, 2010-2014 probably. I need something cheap, ~$10k.

If they cared that little about the outside, I'm sure it's a maintenance nightmare as well. Probably blow up in a year

Payments at $200 a month for another vehicle, it only needs to last 5 months for it to be worth it lol. Then get $200 sending it to the scrapper.
I agree though.

There are a few cash cars, roughly $2000, that might be okay but I have no experience with them.

Extreme over in Cambridge had a good selection. Polaris had 3k off their 4 seat rzr line last month, and this color isn't available for 2025 so we jumped on it. Only thing I don't like about it is the clutching and engine noise. The Gen 2 Prostar is loud

I’m trying to hold out for a 2025 Northstar Ranger crew. They currently have 1k off but I think it will get better as time goes on.

I was quoted $11k ~3 years ago on my 99 ECSB that needed some decent bodywork.

I came in $100.00 under, after deductable was applied for mine to be totalled value.
Wasn't about to let that basket case go to a shop, it would be gone

Northern California is in a severe weather advisory because we are having 15-20 mph winds with 40 mph gusts. PG&E is shutting off power to many areas to prevent fires.

Just imagine if we where hit with a tropical storm. Not even a category 1 hurricane.

Spent 4-5 years in Ventura CA, do the "Sant anna " winds effect you guys up north? I know it's fire season in the PMW plains area right now

I don't think we call them that up here. But we usually get some northern winds around this time that come down from Alaska. Only lasts a day or so normally.

While the Santa Ana winds are warm. The winds we get up here usually drop the temperature by up to 10°. It's still dry air though

My carrier is dropping some bands in the 4G as they push to get everyone onto 5G. They told me my phone will no longer be supported and I will need to purchase another newer phone. My current phone I have since 2019. So about 5 years old. Typical for me. So a little while back in anticipation of this I picked up a used one off eBay that supports the new 5G standards.

Like I did to my current (old) phone. I added an extended battery wired into the internal battery so it charges at the same time and makes the internal battery look like a higher capacity one.

I would have gone with a higher capacity battery one the new phone but due to the camera on this one it limited the size I could fit. This one is rated at 8000 mAH with the internal 4000 mAH making total capacity 12000 mAH for a weeks worth of battery life

Vacuum pressed the plastic shell and glued it over the battery. Now I'm good for another 5 years


But all this has got me thinking of jumping ship to US Mobile. I'm thinking of either their $10 plan for 2GB and unlimited talk and text. Ot the $15 5GB and unlimited talk and text. I currently use TracFone with 500MB, 500 minutes, 1000 texts for $12.50. pretty much their cheapest plan. I never run out of minutes but have for texts and data. So I'm looking for some with more data and texts. Anyone have experience with US Mobile. Reviews seem good and talk a lot about the good customer service
