im not trying to start anything but why if they are 1/4 tracks would they downgrade to 1/8? that defeats the purpose of a 1/4 track

i assume(and you know what they say about that)its a numbers game.by this i mean insurance on 1/4 tracks are greatly higher than 1/8 mile tracks.also i dont think tracks around here get the racer numbers that bigger areas get,a typical tnt will be under 50 cars perhaps under 30,and races are usually under 100 cars.

Since Jess didn't really seem to answer what I think you were asking I'll take a shot at it. Some of the 1/4 mile tracks around here that I have raced at don't have enough coast down area to let the really fast guys run the 1/4. So for the fast cars they drop it to 1/8. When they have diesel events they usually run 1/4 in the bracket and index (quick diesel) classes but run 1/8th for the faster trucks. For one most of the guys 11.49 and faster don't have cages and for another stopping a 6,700+ lb truck from 120+mph in their short coast down just isn't fun. Mostly a safety and insurance thing.

to be honest ,i dont really know alot about sled pulling.i did some searching around looking at classes and decided to lump 2.6 and under into one group.i was told by others that stock turbo dmaxes and psds could compete very well in this class.if that is not the case i have made a mistake however the class will have to stand for this year.i will promise you this if thier is a good number of trucks calling for the 2.5 class we will def have one next year.i hope this doesnt affect your decision to come.

i was asked about hanging weights for the 2.6 class.since it will be a class that many stock and first time pullers will be in no hanging weights will be allowed.secure weight can be added in the bed or rear cab area if secure to get truck up to 8000lb limit.also no drugs in the 2.6,2.8 or 3.0 class.

now to totally confuse everyone,if you decide to pull in the top truck challenge class, hanging weight is legal as well as nos,but upwards directing exhaust is required...if specific questions pm me and il try to clear it up...
