Hey guys. I've previously owned a 2002 Chevrolet 4x4 Creb Cab short bed (loved it) 2500 Duramax and a 2005 GMC Long bed (ok, but mileage always sucked). I am currently looking for a 2006 and up crew cab short bed 4x4 to build into a daily driver/hot rod/tow vehicle. I like the older body style, but might go newer. Looking to lower it and beef it up power wise. Any suggestions as far as better years to look for? Is a newer model minus some restrictions as good or better than an older one? I was thinking the Allison six speed would be nice.

Welcome, I have been to Reno alot when I lived in Round Mt. Nv. Raced Motocross at Stead, Almo truck Stop & all over Nv. Renodmax (Jordan) & Righteyeblind (Reece) are in Reno as well and probably know of a few trucks that might fit your bill.
Welcome! I really like my 2011 so far. I have a 2001 duramax too and i didnt have to much complaints on that one, and mileage was pretty good.
