This election is really showing me just how far left our entire political system has shifted. I can remember when the South would essentially vote straight Dem, and now its straight Rep.

The far left has killed the regular left, as they say

They were not actual democrats, they were Dixiecrats. The republicans forced reconstructionist ideals on the south in the 1890’ until 1910 and that made every southerner a democrat until the Democratic Party lost its mind…

Yep, I remember that term, dixiecrats, from the '70s. Still, it is interesting how far our politics have shifted. I couldnt take four more years of leftist insanity, though.
Got up this morning hoping I wouldn't have to go out and flip my US flag upside down on the pole. Thank God.
Love the meme, Jason. (y)

Had a co-worker try to present ID and they wouldn't even look at it, telling him it was now illegal to verify ID in California.
It is Now Illegal for them to Ask in California.

Also in California, If you are registered as Independent you can vote in the Primaries in Person for any Political party Except a Republican Candidate. If you want to vote for a Republican Candidate you must re-register as a Republican. They will not give you a republican Ballot unless you make the change.

Where I went In Person for the Primary they would not openly tell you, it's ok we can re-register you right there. You had to Ask... and at the very end of them telling you how you can go to the register or you can mail in a change form. SOME, Not all, would say or we can do it right here for you if you are ready. and for that they actually did need to verify it was you...

Go ahead, Tell me the System Corrupt with out actually telling me....

So anyone can just walk in off the street and get a ballot? How do they know the person voting is a registered voter?
Basically as mentioned, if you obtained a driver's license legally in CA, you could Vote... and There were places assisting people to get a driver's license... Literally spoon feeding them the answers and helping people from other countries.

From what I heard, They would tell them it's important to get the license so you can vote and stay here. If you have a valid license they can not kick you out.

Now they are just referred to Dumbocrats around here.... They just follow whatever the party says. At one point during this election, they changed their slogan to "Vote Blue no matter who." and some of the people running were already convicted Felons that were convicted of Fraud and things like that.

And Yes I am aware there is corruption on both sides.

Again, I just dont know why you guys live there. Too much regulation, corruption.
The weather is usually Awesome most of the time year round!!! Are trucks don't rust to pieces.

In CA if you work an Hourly Job, anything over 8 hours in 1 day is over time, anything over 12 is Double time.

So it has its upside...

Tom,
born and raised here for almost 62 years. I have a lot of family here in SoCal. Half are blue and half are red. We all get along and don't talk about politics. I have 4 years left for retirement and would love to move out of state but family here. Just like what you're going through with your kid. A good family support system goes along ways when nearby. My 91 year old mom had a big health scare earlier this year and I was glad I was 35 minutes away for her.
You can't beat our weather out here. Except today, we're on high wind watch 50-60 mph winds up to 100 mph gusts in the passes.

I know I kind of opened the door with my post about voting yesterday, but lets try to keep political discussion non-partisan. There is no perfect candidate and no perfect party.
And that's why I originally registered as independent. I don't agree with alot of things on any one side. I prefer to vote on a candidate based on their Qualifications and what they bring to the table for the whole country. Unfortunately the way the current system works, The Major presidential candidates will either be backed by the Red or the Blue . You can run under any party you want, But you will be far less likely to succeed and Win the Presidential race.
