Just figured some of you guys might get a kick out of my tdi golf. It's 2.0 common-rail inline 4 diesel. Finally got around to deleting and tuning it. I did a full turbo back exhaust with a resonator to delete the dpf. It had an interesting egr. Had a low pressure and high pressure egr system. High pressure went straight from exhaust manifold to the intake manifold, and low pressure was post dpf through an egr cooler and then into the turbo. I also did a ccv reroute. I was surprised how much vapor comes out of the ccv compared to my duramax! And then malone tuning to take care of the delete plus the extra hp and torque. I was getting around 35-37 mpg before all this so im interested to see what it gets now. Ill update on that. This engine uses a cp4.1 injection pump kind of like the lml duramax. There's also a conversion kit to install a mini cp3 in its place, and that will be my next mod to bullet proof this thing. Because this injection pump also goes out and takes out the injectors and other fuel components. Anyhow just thought id share!

Yea it sure is, going to keep it all just in case. Not sure what will come out of the VW diesel scandal. The exhaust inside after the dpf didnt have a bit of black soot in it. How bad could it really be ya know?

They settled the scandal already. Just shy of 15 billion dollars. 14.8 I think.

Everyone can go back and get 5 grand plus a retune or sell their car back to vw.

But 5 billion of that is fines to the regulators and the rest goes to fixing the problem. So who really won here?

That is a nice dub though. Nice and clean. Interested to see how it runs now.

Hey thanks! Yea i read a lot into the deal. Seems like the ones that didnt have DEF injection might be retrofitted with it to pass. At least thats what everyone on the tdi forum thinks. Which is going to suck for me if i take the fix. But VW still hasnt announced how they will fix all them. They did say on the ones with DEF injection will most likely just be a retune. I may do buy back if they will let me get into another tdi. Either way ill have some extra cash which will be nice. But im wondering what i will have to do if i take the fix since its modded. Maybe ill just tell them thats the way it was when i bought it or slap the stock parts back on. Depends what their actual fox will be for mine. I dont think this fuel fill up will be accurate of my fuel mileage, ive been driving it like i stole it lol

I'd take the 5 grand and fix then just retune it out. Unless they gave a great buy back deal. I thought about buying one just to see haha

Anybody know of any good vw forums? Preferbly along the lines of DD!!

Tdiclub is pretty good but theres a lot of people on there that aren't too mechanically inclined and a lot of people who are totally against deleting and tuning them, but then also theres a guy with one that has a twin turbo setup lol

Man this is good news. I have a feeling my shop will get busy with deletes. I'm listed as one of the only Rawtek dealers in the PNW.

Finally filled up after my first tank since delete. Got 36 mpg. But it was a lot of wide open driving, and getting on it. This next fill up should be more accurate. Although this car has bigger tires than factory so not sure how accurate the trip millage is. But we will see what kind of increase i get from normal driving.

The exhaust and tuning i did through fixmyvw.com $870 dollars shipped for a full 409 stainless exhaust system. I recommend at least a resonator with it as it was very loud and droned without one. Resonator adds like $50. Buzzken makes the exhaust, he's in canada. A lot of guys just do straight exhaust to stock muffler. Rawtek also makes exhausts for these but they are more expensive and 304 stainless. The egr delete i got from Les ay German diesel mororwerks in PA. They call it full "race pipe" that deletes the egr valve and anti-shudder valve at the intake and i also got my egr cooler delete from him also. CVV i just used a 3/4 heater hose from valve cover down near wheel well liner to vent. And used a dorman rubber expansion plug to plug intake. If you have any other questions let me know. Oh yea tuning is malone.
