Thanks out to Guy, Mike, Chris, Jason, Russ, Anthony, Nathan, (and whoever I forgot) for showing up. There was snow on the pass, but none on the freeway. It's always an interesting drive through The Grapevine.
We only ran the truck 2 passes due to problems we could not fix at the track. Best pass was 11.1 @ 123 with lots left on the table. Traction was poor.
Chris was "supposed" to run just an 1/8mi blast, but ran 8.0? for a shakeout run. WOW!! That was one of the meanest cars there, if not the meanest. If you've never seen his car, you really need to check it out. It's one of the best engineered cars I've seen, and extra clean.
I need to fix 3 things before Arizona, so I have to go to Irwindale to see if the fixes hold.
The twins will take some getting used to. While they spool very well, you need some heat in them first, just like a big single.
Yeah, I guess an 11.1 ain't a new best, but it felt good, found some problems that are slowing me down, and it was a blast to run it again. Another pass would have put it well into the 10's on fuel, but that wasn't the goal for the day.
Thanks again, and congrats to all that raced.
PS - The fastest diesel there was a Duramax.
