Recent purchase of a LMM. I have a Dsp5 switch question. I've got tunes ordered from PPEI and was wondering on the wiring of the dsp5 switch. If I put another switch in the circuit to "short circuit" it. (Put the 5v to ground) will it lock my truck in the lowest tune ?

Why would you want to do something like that? If its for security, just have Kory write you a "valet" tune for one of the 5 positions.

Well good idea, but it's already been shipped and to do that would be using up a tune that could be used for power enhancement. I'd like to have the dsp5 switch in the open. (Not hidden) but be able to (lock) it in the tune that could do the least damage if abused.
Just asking if the switch/Ecm recognizes the wiring in that perspective.

Thanks

Google "DSP5 key lock switch" if you need one that you can lock into one specific tune.
How many different hi-hp tunes does one need? :rofl:I think you can spare one spot.

They were sold out. Just asking what is the outcome when the ecm sees the full 5v going to ground. In the dsp5 wiring. The guy at PPEI heard of this being done but never done it himself. Just looking for the technical answer. :thumb:

Ok ok. Ur right. I can spare a spot. Absolutely. But everything is being shipped as is and I'd just like to know how the switch works and if I could save some coin. Is it too much to ask ?

Try to save money and it will bite you in the arse. This is a expensive hobby lol. Just save up for a locking switch. I would want to mess with electronics like that, you could potential fry something expensive(least with my luck I would)

If your going to do anything with a switch just put it inline of the switch wiring and when the switch is "off" your truck will default to the base tune (usually a stock power tune) when the toggle is "on" your dsp5 will work normally

I'm assuming you got a auto cal from ppei.. You can change your tunes in the auto cal via email..
