I talked with a guy tonight that has been dragging Fords for about 20 years. I was asking him some questions about local events and he wanted to know what I was going to drive. I told him my truck and he kind of half ass laughed at me. Then he asked what I though it would run and I said "13.5,,,maybe lower".

He kind of chuckled and said if anything that he had learned in all his years of drag racing, it was never to predict your ET. He said that you'll just be disappointed when you pick up your slip. Oh, and before that he laughed at me when I asked what kind of helmet I should get. He asked why and I said I would be faster than 13.99.;) He is a great guy and has helped me in the past, namely using his lift to install the SCV. But, I think he needs to be taught a lesson about diesel power.

So, the goals this season are to make a sub 13.5 pass. and hopefully with some grace of god make a sub 13 pass.

Also, I can't remember. What was Casper's fastest pass on #2 when he still had the stock turbo? This will be the benchmark.

I love those types. Good people with a lot of knowledge, but just haven't seen what number 2 can do. My wife (with lot's of shiney things) went to dinner tonight and some guy drove up in a new Vette. I overheard him telling the Vallet guy how fast it is and how nothing could take him from a redlight:D . So many vettes, so little time. Have a friend video his reaction to the introduction of good ole number 2.

Local Guys

DP, I would about bet it was a mustang guy! Does he race at National Trails? They open at the first of april. I will be there to do some more testing. I work on a lot of mustangs for people that just have no idea what a diesel will do. It's kind of funny. P.S. I just got back from the OBX race and the Stuck Racing dodge just went 6.14 in the 1/8. That should put him around 9.50 to 9.60's in the quarter.

Casper best stock turbo pass was 12.82 @ 105 on #2 :D

I have a story about helmets. I was waiting in the staging lines to run Casper and as I was putting my helmet on I saw and over heard some bimbo who standing around her husband and friends, who was running a 60's GTO, made a big deal and was pointing an laughing at me for thinking I would need a helmet

Needless to say the next time I saw them in the lanes that didn't happen

Sting,

It was Bill Kehr. He's great to talk to about racing and anytime he gets a chance, he ribs me about my truck being a dragster or some comment about Chevy/GMC. I might come up to NTR for the T&T, but last time we went on opening day it was a mad house with ricers, junior's, and bikes. 1 pass for setting there about 4 hours. :(

It's all in good fun though.

Casper went 12.82@105 #2 and stock turbo. That is some benchmark.

coolest thing in the world is being able to stay with a bike!
3 crotch rocks playin in the street-i pulled up along side gave them the nod at about 30mph-2 bikes didnt bite but the zx6 did-he pulled away a few feet but when the turbo spooled and the ally decided to downshift and find the right gear i was on his back tire!he tried to shake me and at about 120 on the speedo i backed off-next traffic lite they all were talkin and shouting about what the hell is in that truck and what happened and why didnt the bike pull away bla bla bla
it felt pretty cool-im sure in a real race he would have got me pretty good but i know he was pissed that he could not pull away from me

DP I have 13.3 in a full weight crewcab stick shift! You easily run quicker than 13.5 now that you have a built trans.

April 7 a Saturday Thompson Dragway is open for T-n-T from 10am to 5pm. Weather premitting I am going. Tring to convince Caleb to go also.

Yes to the Todd question. He has the parts coming and it will be back to a street car. He has regular tires/wheels on it now, he sold the slicks and the front skinnies.

Bill was following me last night and I left a big cloud for him to drive through on Mem. Dr. Then he did a burnout at the Mill in his F-150. He said "real trucks make smoke from the tires" then laughed. I told him I would make smoke from the tires too but he would be the one scraping the rubber from the wheel wells.
