I used to be picky, I still am with other things but for the time being I just need my junk to run, I've got mine beat up so bad from working it around my land (bumpers and tailgate) I don't even care about mine anymore. Kinda sucks.

I'm with James on this one. I do everything myself. I'm way to picky to have help. And they usually slow me down from too much BSing going on

Same here. I don't mind company, but when I'm really working on a project, there are a select few that I even consider letting come hang out.

Built a buddies trans and next thing I know he's invited 7 of his 18 year old buddies over whom I have never met. They started vaping their dildo things in my garage and I said get the F out and told him that's the last time that ever happens.

X3. I only have one guy who helps me and he is a full time tech at a dealer. Everyone else just gets in the way and makes the job take longer.

This is how I am also. The few of us that are really mechanically inclined enough to work and understand this stuff help each other on about everything. If a friend needs help designing, fabricating, and welding a badass bumper for his teryx to something as simple as splitting firewood and dropping trees we are always there to help.

All of you are so uptight.... So organized and picky. We Vegas people are way laid back. It's about having fun. I've "helped" a bunch of times with all sorts of crap. I love having buddies around when wrenching...making me laugh just remembering all the hang offs we had while wrenching. When wes and I installed the lift on my pig it was food beer/coke,and non stop Metallica. Good times

Sounds like a good time to me, but, all my buddies have settled down, and they come help when they get that occasional 2am phone call that I've destroyed shit, but I get that look, then I'm stuck with the wife for the rest of the storm.

I do things myself or my wife helps me quick. My buddies are not mechanical or just busy.

My friends wife stopped by one day and was.so impressed that I was SO mechanical.... I was just rotating my tires. Lol

Thats not saying much.... you pulled a cummins mod and put a screw driver in your compressor blades cause you wanted more smoke. dont deny it, i know the true reason you did it  :roflmao: you need supervision any time you work on that truck

This thread is why I joined this website. I'm a first time diesel owner and I work 800 miles from home. If something does go wrong, I'm on my own. I'm counting on the experts here to hopefully help me out so I can get back rolling again. I've worked on my own vehicles since forever. I have a hard time trusting anybody that works on my vehicles that I don't know. And I don't know anybody where I work and don't trust anybody I do know where I live. Works out great for me. Maybe I'm paranoid? And none of my friends (the both of them) have a clue how to put air in a tire. My wife is my right hand man when I'm at home. My 10 year old daughter learned how to put front brakes on my wife's Accord this past summer. She's learning. I want her to show up all the boys when she's older. Makes me proud.:)

A man told me before I had kids that when your kids are little you're to busy to spend time with them and when they get older they're to busy to spend time with you. It's so true. My kids are 3 almost to turn 4 & the other is 3 months. I try my best to spend time with them and include the older to help me do whatever. I love it when he helps me.
