Hey guys im pretty new to duramax diesels i joined in 2013 but hardly used my account but not new to duramaxs. I seem to never get any help on duramax forum thought i might get some here. I tuned a buddys 09 Lmm and im getting these Injector short curcuit codes pop up. They only pop up in tunes 2 through 5 and when you really get in the throttle and when there is alot of load on the truck. It throws the code and runs rough then you clear it and runs fine until you get in the throttle hard again. Wont do it on tune 1 and ive tuned several other LMMs and no problems until this one. Ive been through my tuning several times i dont see anything that looks wrong. Any suggestions??

Hopefully you get some help here, but issues like this can be tough to diagnose remotely.

I would start by posting the exact injector codes that you see and if it's the same ones EVERY time.

If that's not enough to pinpoint it, you will most likely have to post the tune or at least the values you are commanding. Without those, I don't think you'll get much help (from any forum). We have some great tuners on this site (and non-tuners with a wealth of knowledge) and I've seen them go out of there way to help people (especially those that have been here a while and contribute), and not that they won't help others but they are less inclined to help newbies unless you're a hot female (nature of the beast).

Being a "non-tuner" myself, but looking at the problem as you have posted, here's questions I have:

Have you used this EXACT tune in another (or several) LMM without issues? If so, it could be a mechanical issue with this particular truck (weak/faulty injector).

What's different from the tunes that do from the tunes that don't (obviously more fuel is being commanded), but is there any other changes that could effect fueling (tq management)?

Hopefully you get it figured out. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies so far. The code we are seeing is p1233 Injector 4 control circuit shorted and p1236 Injector 5 control circuit shorted. I havent had the truck in my possession since i tuned it long enough to data log much but will be doing it soon. This truck has been kind of a pain from the get go. Put a liftpump on it and the motor was shot. The transgo install went smooth then the bcm shot craps. If someone specifically wants to look at the tune thats fine and i will email it to them but i dont want to post the tune up on open forum just because of possible criticism. Not that it will happen just dont want to deal with it. I appreciate you guys just responding and helping me out. Any thoughts or advice is much appreciated.

Like leadfoot said I wonder if there is a limiter that i missed but its not going into limp mode its throwing p1233 then runs rough. I need to data log it and watch what it does when it throws the code. I know im asking alot for not giving much info.

Well i got it fixed and it runs good now. I put one of the bigger tunes on the base tune and it ran fine and then paint noticed i had missed a couple limiters in the torque tables and i corrected that. Then i put the stock tune back on the base tune and full flashed it and it runs fine now in all the tunes. No more codes..... Thanks everyone for the help
