Exceptional when it's raining, but hydroplane like a ****? So are they good or bad in the rain? I'm asking because I was considering the 420s for my next tires.
Ok, I'm with you now. Overall a good tire though? You are running the same size tire that I run. How are they wearing?I mean when the pavement is wet they grip very well. If you hit a big pudd, it will still hydroplane. That channel doesn't move enough water to keep contact.
I have 285/50/20's and they grip very well for a street tire. Also their the best wet tire Ive tried before.

Hmmm, that's weird. My stock tires were rated at 3042 each, and the 305/50R20 Nitto 420S is rated at 3086 on Nitto's website. I'm glad to hear they wear good.I have about 12k on them and they look like new. Thats running 600hp in 2wd 95% of the time. I don't tow anything, but the load rating on them is not as high as the OEM tire. In fact, if you take the truck to a 'Discount Tire' or the like they won't mount them on 8-lug wheels.
That's what pressures I'm running in mine now.Don't worry about the load carrying. The 305/50R20 are rated for more weight then the stock LT245/75R16. I would run 35 in the front 30 in the rear when empty for the best wear and puncture resistance.
