Finally decided to start a build thread! Picked up this 06 lbz ccsb lt today for 6900.00 from a guy in Denver...

The Bad-
1)hail damage on the hood and roof, a few hits scattered along the driver side.
2)360k miles, highway miles from what I can tell.
3) 1 rogue odd rim that doesn't match.
4)a couple of dents in the door that should pop out.
5)this tip??? Wtf
6) some paint is peeling on the hood, roof, and a fee other spots
The good-
1)Engine is strong, nothing seems out if the ordinary. No leaks, drove it home (around 100 miles) tonight. Good power, steering is a bit sloppy, but not bad.
2)New stock transmission 30k miles ago
3)New water pump and injectors 60k miles ago.
4) has an older but good touch screen and a nice jl audio box with 2x10" subs.

It has a bully dog that'll be getting removed, a huge tip that'll be gonzo too. 4 good tires that should work for this winter. Interior is clean and in good shape, needs a little tlc but nothing major:woott:

So what's the plan?! Looks like a nice truck for the money.

Short turn is replace the hood with a cowl hood, not sure which one yet, get the dents fixed. Then gonna pull off the overloads, running boards, and bumper. Replace the mirrors with new stock tow mirrors, put back the factory stock bumper, then color match everything. Probably going to get rid of the sub box too, I'm just not a fan of all that base. Also be going through the front end and getting it all snugged up. the wife is not impressed lol

Yea, my wife has put the kibosh on any future used duramax. She called my 01 the stink box and it was the cleanest 01 ever once I was done with it... :spit:

Had some time today to wash it( blow paint off lol), detail the interior, and fix a few odds.
Took out the bullydog, removed two wires that were sticking out of either A pillars. Attempted to pull the running boards, f*** they are tight! Let them soak tonight in some penetrating fluid. Fixed the little rubber thingy behind the fog light button. Pulled everything that I could from the interior to soak and scrub..
Also found a hole in the passenger side cv axle boot, its losing grease pretty bad, so that'll need addressed soon...also cleaned the dry filter, its pretty bad so it'll need replaced..last but not least, used some old lens cleaner to try and restore the headlights...mhhhh, looks a little better I guess.

Anybody dealt with Jasper Engines and transmission? Transmission has a plate with a model+serial number, gonna call them Monday and if they have any records.

Just general opinions, a Google search last night led me to a couple hrs of reading....I was....concerned. How are they on warranty? This transmission is still within the scope, but obviously it has switched owners. No issues so far, just wondering.

Jasper has a great warranty.. I've never used one of their Alison's but they are pretty good on all the others I've used

Today I found the cause of my abs light:dontknow: also sourced a hood, and 2 doors at a salvage yard in denver. Hopefully get the hail damaged parts replaced.

havent updated in a while, still on the hunt for body parts. But ive started on what i can, did breaks all around, flushed the hydroboost, new inner and out tie rods, new upper and lower ball joints, also replaced both wheel bearings. Picked up some cheap 17" rims and 285/70 to nitto trail grapplers. Rims are -12 os with a 4.5bs. Also took off the exhaust tail section and leaving it just an axle dump for now. finally hooked up the v2 and turned off the egr and did the ol turbo vein rumble...shes coming along.
